Faith Misplaced

This is a subsidiary post of Faith.

Luke 8:25  –  “…’Where is your faith?’…”  –  Wherever the disciples’ faith was, it wasn’t in the right place.

Luke 18:9  –  “…who trusted in themselves that they were righteous…”  –  Some people place their faith in themselves rather than in the Lord.

John 2:24  –  “…was not entrusting Himself to them…”  –  Jesus knew not to trust people.  Instead, He loved people and trusted God.

Psalm 118:8  –  “…than to trust in man.”  –  Better not to trust in men.
Psalm 118:9  –  “…than to trust in princes.”    –  Even when they are great.

Psalm 146:3  –  “Do not trust in princes, in mortal man…”  –  See note on Psalm 118:8-9 above.

Isaiah 42:17  –  “…trust in idols…”

Jeremiah 17:5-8  –  “Cursed in the man who trust in mankind and makes flesh his strength, and whose heart turns away from the Lord…”  –  Better – much better – to trust in the Lord than to trust in humanity.

Habakkuk 2:18  –  “…trusts in his own handiwork when he fashions speechless idols.”
