Distinguishing Faith from Endurance, Patience, Perseverance…

This is a subsidiary post of Defining Faith.
It is also a subsidiary post of Endurance, Patience, Perseverance…

Faith begins in hope…and is consummated in endurance (patience, perseverance…).

Hebrews 6:11, 12  –  “…imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”

Hebrews 10:35-39  –  “…you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised…But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.”

Hebrews 11:27  –  “…he endured, as seeing Him who is unseen.”  –  The phrase “seeing Him who is unseen” is, of course, a reference to faith – the subject of the eleventh chapter of Hebrews.

James 1:2, 3, 4  –  “…the testing of your faith produces endurance…”

Revelation 13:10  –  “…Here is the perseverance and the faith of the saints.”

Revelation 14:12  –  “Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.”
