This is a subsidiary post of Faith.
There is no substitute for faith.
Before Jesus, God did not command us to believe; after Jesus, He did. Thus Jesus provides the rationale for faith. In fact, so compelling is this rationale that faith is commanded from all those who have learned about Him. For this reason, Moses did not command faith…but Jesus did.
Romans 14:22, 23 – “…and whatever is not from faith is sin.”
1 Corinthians 10:1-5 – “…with most of them God was not well-pleased; for they were laid low in the wilderness.”
Hebrews 3:17, 18, 19 – “…they were not able to enter because of unbelief.”
Hebrews 10:38 (quoting Habakkuk 2:4) – “BUT MY RIGHTEOUS ONE SHALL LIVE BY FAITH; AND IF HE SHRINKS BACK, MY SOUL HAS NO PLEASURE IN HIM.”
Hebrews 11:6 – “And without faith it is impossible to please Him…”
Jude 1:5 – “…the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed those who did not believe.”
