Or, “False Faith.”
Or, “Part-time Faith.”
Contrasting post: True Faith (Faith that is genuine, sincere, unfeigned)
Much Christian faith today is posing. It is a masquerade. This is not because people are intentionally wanting to deceive others. Rather, it is because their faith is really in each other…not in God.
You cannot live anyone else’s faith; you can only live your own. You can only live your own faith if you have one. Rid yourself of false faith, for it will do you no good when you need it.
Faith is the foundation of your relationship with God. If the foundation is bad, everything you build on it will keep collapsing.
The remedy for pseudo-faith is to go to God and exchange it for a true faith. True faith is a conviction and confession before God. Therefore, stay before God until He gives you the assurance and peace that your faith is real.
Examine yourself to see whether your faith is true or false, whether it is in God or man. Use these verses to help in that process. See also the verses at True Faith.
Luke 8:25 – “…’Where is your faith?’…” – Is your faith absent in times of trial?
Romans 14:22, 23 – “The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God…”
1 Corinthians 4:3, 4 – “…but the one who examines me is the Lord. – Consider this verse with 2 Corinthians 13:5-6 below.
2 Corinthians 13:5, 6 – “Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves!..”
Habakkuk 2:4 – “…the righteous will live by his faith.” – Are you truly living by your faith…or are you only consulting it on occasion (however frequently)?
