2 Chronicles 15:2  –  “‘…the LORD is with you when you are with Him…’”


Matthew 1:23 (quoting Isaiah 7:14 and 8:10 below)  –  “‘…AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL,’ which translated means, ‘GOD WITH US.'”

Matthew 28:20  –  “…and lo, I am with you always…”

Luke 1:66  –  “…For the hand of the Lord was certainly with him.”  –  Refers to John the Baptist.

John 8:29  –  “And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone…”  –  In Acts 10:38 below, Peter bears witness to this fact.

John 14:16, 17, 18  – “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.  I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”

Acts 10:38  –  “…for God was with Him.”  –  See note on John 8:29 above.

2 Corinthians 13:11  –  “…and the God of love and peace will be with you.”

Philippians 4:9  –  “The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”


Genesis 39:2  –  “And the Lord was with Joseph…”

Genesis 39:23  –  “…because the Lord was with him…”  –  This is still speaking of Joseph.

Joshua 1:17  –  “…only may the Lord your God be with you, as He was with Moses.”  –  This is what the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh said to Joshua after he had instructed them.

Judges 6:12  –  “…’The Lord is with you, O valiant warrior.”
Judges 6:13  –  “…’O my lord, if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us?…”

1 Samuel 3:19, 20  –  “Thus Samuel grew and the LORD was with him…”

1 Samuel 10:7  –  “It shall be when these signs come to you, do for yourself what the occasion requires, for God is with you.”

2 Samuel 7:9  –  “I have been with you wherever you have gone and have cut off all your enemies from before you; and I will make you a great name, like the names of the great men who are on the earth.”  –  This is the Lord speaking to David through Nathan the prophet.

Isaiah 7:14 (quoted in Matthew 1:23 above)  –  “…and she will call His name Immanuel.”  –  An NASB margin note on “Immanuel” reads “i.e., God is with us.”

Isaiah 8:10 (quoted in Matthew 1:23 above)  –  “…for God is with us.”  –  An NASB margin note on “God is with us” reads “Heb Immanu-el.”

Amos 5:14  –  “…thus may the LORD God of hosts be with you..”

Zechariah 8:23  –  “…’Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.'”  –  This is a nice – and meaningful – play on words.
