2 Timothy 2:22
2 Timothy 2:23  –  “But refuse foolish and ignorant speculations, knowing that they produce quarrels.”  –   According to www.lockman.org, the Greek word translated as “quarrels” in this verse is Strong’s # 3163 which appears a total of 4 times in the NASB New Testament and is elsewhere translated as “conflicts” (2 Corinthians 7:5; James 4:1) and “disputes” (Titus 3:9).

James 4:1  –  “What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members?”
James 4:2  –  “You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.”
James 4:3  –  “You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.”


Proverbs 17:14  –  “The beginning of strife is like letting out water, so abandon the quarrel before it breaks out.”

Proverbs 20:3  –  “Keeping away from strife is an honor for a man, but any fool will quarrel.”
