James – This James is the brother of Jesus (Galatians 1:19); he is not the son of Zebedee who was killed in Acts 12:2. This James is also the brother of Jude – see below. James and Jude were skeptical of Jesus’ ministry activities during the days of His flesh (See especially Mark 3:21, 31-32; also see Matthew 12:46-47 and Luke 8:19-20). Nevertheless, these brothers came to the truth after His resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:7).
1 Peter – Search the NASB and note how often “suffering” or one of its cognates show up. Of course, do the same with the term that so often accompanies suffering – that is, “glory.”
Jude – Jude is the brother of James (who wrote the book of James – see above). The two are mentioned by name in Matthew 13:55 and Mark 6:3. They are mentioned more generally in Acts 1:14 and 1 Corinthians 9:5.
