Slander

This is a subsidiary post of Speech That Is Bad.

Matthew 15:19 – “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders.”

Mark 7:21, 22, 23 – “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness. All these evil things proceed from within and defile the man.”

Romans 1:28, 29, 30, 31, 32 – “…being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful…”

2 Corinthians 12:20, 21 – “For I am afraid that perhaps when I come I may find you to be not what I wish and may be found by you to be not what you wish; that perhaps there will be strife, jealousy, angry tempers, disputes, slanders, gossip, arrogance, disturbances; I am afraid that when I come again my God may humiliate me before you, and I may mourn over many of those who have sinned in the past and not repented of the impurity, immorality and sensuality which they have practiced.”

Ephesians 4:31 – “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.”

Colossians 3:8, 9, 10, 11 – “But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth. Do not lie to one another…”

1 Peter 2:1, 2, 3 – “…putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander…”

1 Peter 3:14-16 – “…so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame.”

Psalm 50:20  –  “You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother’s son.”
