Hebrews 1:1-2:18  –  There are 11 occurrences of the word “angel” in this first two chapters of Hebrews.  Through the chapter, Jesus is portrayed as superior to them. 

Hebrews 1:13, 14  –  “But to which of the angels…Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?

Hebrews 2:6, 7, 8 (quoting Psalm 8:4-6 below)  –  “…YOU HAVE MADE HIM FOR A LITTLE WHILE LOWER THAN THE ANGELS…”

2 Peter 2:10, 11  –  “…Daring, self-willed, they do not tremble when they revile angelic majesties, whereas angels who are greater in might and power do not bring a reviling judgment against them before the Lord.”


Psalm 8:4, 5, 6 (quoted in Hebrews 2:6-8 above)  –  “…You have made him a little lower than God…”  –  The NASB has a marginal note on “God” that reads “Or the angels; Heb., Elohim.”

Psalm 103:20, 21, 22  –  “…you His angels…you His hosts…all you works of His…”
