Faith Is Being Convinced

This is a subsidiary post of Defining Faith.

This post demonstrates how being “convinced” equates to being “persuaded.”  To see how the latter equates to believing, see Faith Is Being Persuaded.  In addition, Acts 28:24 below demonstrates that being “convinced“- as well as being “persuaded” – is synonymous with “believing.”

Luke 16:31  –  “…they will not be persuaded even if…”
Luke 16:31 ESV  –  “…neither will they be convinced if…”

Acts 28:24  –  “Some were being persuaded by the things spoken, but others would not believe.”
Acts 28:24 KJV  –  “And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.”
Acts 28:24 ESV  –  “And some were convinced by what he said, but others disbelieved.”
Acts 28:24 NIV  –  “Some were convinced by what he said, but others would not believe.”

Romans 8:38, 39  –  “For I am convinced that…”
Romans 8:38-39 KJV  –  “For I am persuaded, that…”
Romans 8:38-39 ESV  –  “For I am sure that…”
Romans 8:38-39 GNT  –  “For I am certain that…”
