Humility

Matthew 11:29  –  “…I am gentle and humble in heart…”

Numbers 12:3  –  “(Now the man Moses was very humble…)”

*Psalm 131:1  –  “…my heart is not proud, nor my eyes haughty…”  –  With this kind of thinking, it’s easier to adopt the “perplexed, but not despairing” posture of 2 Corinthians 4:8.  (That is, we should think in this way: “I should not expect to understand things I’m not capable of understanding or don’t need to understand at this point in my spiritual life.”  To demand otherwise is to depart from humility.)

Proverbs 22:4 – “The reward of humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, honor and life.”

Isaiah 66:2 – “To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.”

Micah 6:8 – “…and to walk humbly with your God?”

*Habakkuk 2:4  –  “”Behold, as for the proud one, his soul is not right within him; but the righteous will live by his faith.”
