New Testament Revelation Is Past, Present, and Future

This is a subsidiary post of Revelation.

When the apostles write of revelation, they speak of it in three different dimensions.

They speak of it as past, as in 1 Timothy 3:16 where Jesus was “revealed in the flesh.”

They speak of it as present and ongoing, as in 1 Corinthians 14:26 where Paul speaks of individual believers receiving revelations in corporate worship settings.

They speak of it as future, as in Revelation 1:1 where the great coming of the Lord is in view.

This demonstrates that the righteous experience a progressive increase of the light f knowledge (Proverbs 4:18).
