This is a subsidiary post of Become Like Jesus.
Pursuing our goal of imitating Christ can be helped by considering that Jesus Himself was imitating the Father. That is, we are imitating an imitator. Therefore, let us consider what the Scripture says about Jesus as the model imitator.
John 1:18 –
John 5:19 – “the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.”
John 14:9 – “He who has seen Me has seen the Father”
2 Corinthians 4:4 – “Christ, who is the image of God”
Philippians 2:6 – who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,
Colossians 1:15 – “He is the image of the invisible God”
Hebrews 1:3 – “He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature“
