There are, of course, two kinds of human need: physical (i.e. of the body) and spiritual (i.e. of the soul). Sometimes it is not clear in a given passage whether the reference to need is one of a physical or spiritual nature – or both. Those verses show up here. The others show up respectively in Physical Needs and Spiritual Needs.
Matthew 6:8 – “your Father knows what you need before you ask Him”
Romans 12:13 – “contributing to the needs of the saints”
2 Corinthians 9:12 – “For the ministry of this service is not only fully supplying the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God.”
Revelation 3:17 – “‘Because you say, “I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked”
Psalm 69:33 – “the LORD hears the needy“
