Our Words and Our Deeds Should Align

What we say and what we do should line up.  When they don’t, our lives are ugly to God.

Romans 2:17-24  –  God expected the Jews (i.e. the descendants of Abraham) to be “a light to the nations” (Acts 13:47; Isaiah 42:6; 49:6) by word and deed – not by word only.

Romans 15:18  –  Paul makes the point that the obedience of the Gentiles he had secured was by “word and deed” – that is, both.

Psalm 15:4  –  The righteous man sticks to what he has said even if it causes him pain.

Ecclesiastes 5:4, 5, 6  – Once a vow (i.e. a promise) comes out of your mouth, you need to make your behavior align with it.
