Matthew 17:5  –  “…’This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!'”

Luke 10:16  –  “The one who listens to you listens to Me…”  –  Jesus is here speaking to His apostles (Luke 10:1); compare then to 1 John 4:6 below where an apostle is speaking.

Luke 10:38-42  –  “…a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home.  She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word.  But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, ‘Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Deuteronomy 13:4  –  “You shall follow the LORD your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him.”

Deuteronomy 18:15  –  “The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your countrymen, you shall listen to him.”

Deuteronomy 18:18, 19  –  “…It shall come about that whoever will not listen to My words which he shall speak in My name, I Myself will require it of him.”

1 Samuel 3:9-10  –  “And Eli said to Samuel, ‘Go lie down, and it shall be if He calls you, that you shall say, “Speak, LORD, for Your servant is listening.”‘  So Samuel went and lay down in his place.  Then the LORD came and stood and called as at other times, ‘Samuel! Samuel!’ And Samuel said, ‘Speak, for Your servant is listening.'”

2 Kings 18:11-12 – “…because they did not obey the voice of the LORD their God, but transgressed His covenant, even all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded; they would neither listen nor do it.”

2 Chronicles 20:20  –  “…’Listen to me, O Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, put your trust in the LORD your God and you will be established. Put your trust in His prophets and succeed.'”

Psalm 34:11  –  “Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.”

Psalm 78:1  –  “Listen, O my people, to my instruction; incline your ears to the words of my mouth.”

Psalm 81:8-13  –  “Hear, O My people, and I will admonish you; O Israel, if you would listen to Me!  Let there be no strange god among you; nor shall you worship any foreign god.  I, the LORD, am your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide and I will fill it.  But My people did not listen to My voice, and Israel did not obey Me.  So I gave them over to the stubbornness of their heart, to walk in their own devices.  Oh that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways!”

Proverbs 1:23-33  –  “Turn to my reproof, behold, I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you…you neglected all my counsel and did not want my reproof…They would not accept my counsel, they spurned all my reproof…But he who listens to me shall live securely and will be at ease from the dread of evil.”

Proverbs 5:7  –  “Now then, my sons, listen to me and do not depart from the words of my mouth.”

Proverbs 7:24  –  “Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, and pay attention to the words of my mouth.”

Proverbs 13:1  –  “A wise son accepts his father’s discipline, but a scoffer does not listen to rebuke.”

Proverbs 19:27  –  “Cease listening, my son, to discipline, and you will stray from the words of knowledge.”

Ecclesiastes 5:1-3  –  “Guard your steps as you go to the house of God and draw near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools; for they do not know they are doing evil.  Do not be hasty in word or impulsive in thought to bring up a matter in the presence of God. For God is in heaven and you are on the earth; therefore let your words be few.  For the dream comes through much effort and the voice of a fool through many words.”

Isaiah 50:4  –  “…He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple.”

Jeremiah 6:19  –  “…because they have not listened to My words, and as for My law, they have rejected it also.”

Jeremiah 13:10, 11 – “This wicked people, who refuse to listen to My words, who walk in the stubbornness of their hearts…but they did not listen.”

Jeremiah 26:3-6  –  “Perhaps they will listen and everyone will turn from his evil way, that I may repent of the calamity which I am planning to do to them because of the evil of their deeds.  And you will say to them, ‘Thus says the LORD, “If you will not listen to Me, to walk in My law which I have set before you, to listen to the words of My servants the prophets, whom I have been sending to you again and again, but you have not listened;

Jeremiah 29:19  –  “‘…because they have not listened to My words,’ declares the LORD, ‘which I sent to them again and again by My servants the prophets; but you did not listen,’ declares the LORD.”

Jeremiah 32:33  –  “They have turned their back to Me and not their face; though I taught them, teaching again and again, they would not listen and receive instruction.”

Jeremiah 35:13  –  “…’Will you not receive instruction by listening to My words?’…”

Zechariah 7:13  –  “‘And just as He called and they would not listen, so they called and I would not listen‘…”
