Of course, not all pleasure is wrong. This list, however, refers to those that are.
A search of the NASB for [pleasur] in the New Testament yields the following verses. (It also yields other verses – such as references to God’s pleasure- which are not included here.)
2 Thessalonians 2:11, 12 – “…who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.”
1 Timothy 5:6 – “she who gives herself to wanton pleasure is dead even while she lives.”
2 Timothy 3:4 – “lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God”
Hebrews 11:25 – “choosing rather to endure ill-treatment with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin”
James 4:1 – “What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members?”
James 4:2 – “You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.”
James 4:3 – “You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.”
James 5:5 – “You have lived luxuriously on the earth and led a life of wanton pleasure”
2 Peter 2:13 – “…They count it a pleasure to revel in the daytime…”
Proverbs 21:17 – “He who loves pleasure will become a poor man…”
Ecclesiastes 7:4 – “The mind of the wise is in the house of mourning, while the mind of fools is in the house of pleasure.”
