Matthew 22:37  –  “…LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD…”

Mark 12:30 (quoting Deuteronomy 6:5 below)  –  “YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH”

Luke 1:3  – “Theophilus”  –  This is a Greek name meaning “one who loves God.”  (The only other NASB occurrence of this name is in Acts 1:1 below.)

1 Peter 1:8  –  “and though you have not seen Him, you love Him…”  –  Another verse about loving Him whom you cannot see is 1 John 4:20.

1 John 4:20  –  “…’I love God‘…love God whom he has not seen.”  –  Love for God and love for neighbor go hand in hand.  When asked about the greatest commandment, Jesus answered but also quickly volunteered the second lest we misunderstand the first.  See Our Love for God and Others.
