Joy is a benefit from the Lord, a sign of the kingdom of God (see Romans 14:17 below) – an indication of the salvation of our souls.

Acts 13:52  –  “And the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.”

Romans 14:17  –  Righteousness, peace, and joy go together.

Romans 15:13  –  “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing…”

Galatians 5:22, 23  –  Joy is one of the nine “fruit of the spirit,” as Paul put it.

1 Thessalonians 1:6, 7  –  “…having received the word in much tribulation with the joy of the Holy Spirit…”

3 John 1:4  –  “I have no greater joy than this…”
