Our covenant with the Lord includes an inheritance from Him.  Correspondingly, we are His inheritance.

Acts 20:32  –  We receive knowledge and understanding of our inheritance from the word of His grace.

Acts 26:18

1 Corinthians 6:9  –  “…the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God…”
1 Corinthians 6:10  –  “…will inherit the kingdom of God.”

1 Corinthians 15:50  –  “…flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God…”

Galatians 3:29  –  “And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise.”

Hebrews 9:15  –  The eternal inheritance!  Compare with 1 Peter 1:4 below; what is “eternal” is something that “will not fade away.”

1 Peter 1:17-19  –  “…your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers…”  –  Not all that we inherit is worthwhile.  The Lord’s inheritance, by contrast, is entirely worthwhile.


Jeremiah 17:4  –  Do not let go of your inheritance from the Lord.  Cling to it!

Joel 2:17  –  It’s not just we who have an inheritance – the Lord does, too.
