We should view God’s commandments not in isolation but rather, along with His promises, as an integral part of our covenant with Him.

Matthew 19:17  –  “…if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

John 15:30  –  “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love…”

Deuteronomy 5:29  –  “…that they would fear Me and keep all My commandments always, that it may be well with them…”

Deuteronomy 5:33  – “You shall walk in all the way which the LORD your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you will possess.”

Psalm 111:10  –  “…A good understanding have all those who do His commandments…”

Psalm 119:98  –  “Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies…”

Isaiah 48:17, 18, 19  –  “…If only you had paid attention to My commandments!  Then your well-being would have been like a river…”
