This is a subsidiary post of The Inner Man.
Like the hymn, you want to always be able to say It Is Well with My Soul. In fact, it is proper for you to seek the blessedness of your soul by doing good (see Romans 2:9, 10 below).
Matthew 16:26 – Don’t lose your soul!
Romans 2:9, 10 – The state of our souls is determined by the way we are living. Thus our souls give us an indication as to whether or not we are pleasing God.
James 1:21 – “…which is able to save your souls.”
James 5:19-20 – “My brethren, if any among you strays from the truth and one turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.” – See Ezekiel 18:4 below.
1 Peter 2:11 – “…abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul.” – Satan is the enemy of your soul, and so he wages war against it.
2 Peter 2:7, 8, 9
3 John 1:2
Proverbs 11:30 – “…he who is wise wins souls.”
Jeremiah 6:16 (quoted in Matthew 11:29 above) – “And you will find rest for your souls.”
The focal point of ministerial efforts should be toward the human soul.
The soul is where life is experienced.
The honest face is window to the soul.
Would that every human being could learn the care and feeding of the human soul that can be found in Christ.
The care and feeding of the human soul is the inheritance of the saints in Christ.
Would that every human being could sing at all times and truthfully It Is Well with My Soul.
