The Face and Eyes of the Lord – Christ Sees Us, He Knows Us

This is a subsidiary post of Faith.
It is also a subsidiary post of God.

Among the most fundamental truths about God are that He is omnipresent and omniscient.  You don’t even need the Bible to tell you this, for how can God be God without omnipresence and omniscience?  Of course, we’ve been using the theological terms, but even little children know that “God is everywhere and knows everything.”

Yes, God is omniscient and omnipresent.  Unfortunately, far more people confess this belief than live according to the truth of it.

Matthew 6:1  –  Jesus is teaching that we should practice our righteousness before God rather than “before men.”

Matthew 6:4  –  God sees what we do in secret.

Matthew 6:6 – God sees what we do in secret.

Matthew 6:8  –  Our Father knows what we need before we ask Him.

Matthew 6:18  –  God sees what we do in secret.

Matthew 6:32  –  Our Father knows what we need.

Matthew 10:29  –  No sparrow falls to the ground without…
Matthew 10:30  –  No hair falls from your head without…

Luke 12:6 –  No sparrow falls to the ground without…
Luke 12:7  – No hair falls from your head without…  You’re more valuable than many sparrows.

Luke 16:15  –  “God knows your hearts; for that which is highly esteemed among men is detestable in the sight of God.”

John 3:19-21  –  This passage contrasts those people who want to ignore the fact that the Lord knows with those people who accept that the Lord knows and who act accordingly.

Acts 1:24  –  “You, Lord, who know the hearts of all men…”

Acts 15:8  –  “And God, who knows the heart…”

Romans 2:14, 15, 16  –  God is now judging (which includes, of course, includes seeing even the secrets of the heart) through Christ Jesus:  Christ Has Taken the Place of God.

Romans 14:22  –  “The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God.”

1 Corinthians 4:5 –  The idea here is related to what Paul wrote in Romans 2:14-16 above.

2 Timothy 2:19  –  “The Lord knows those who are His”

Hebrews 4:13  –  “there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do”  –  See 1 Corinthians 14:24, 25 above and Revelation 2:18 below.

Hebrews 13:21  –  “working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ”  –  Compare with 1 Thessalonians 2:13 regarding that which is working within us.
