Christ Is First

[Note: I talk through the verses in this post on this podcast:  SC023 – Christ Is First.]

John 1:1-3  – This passage implies that Jesus was first.  It is similar to Colossians 1:15-17 below.  Such thinking would easily give rise to the title applied to Jesus in Revelation 3:14 below.

Acts 26:23 –  the first to proclaim light both to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles

Romans 5:14  –  (typified by Adam, who was, of course, the first of his kind)

Romans 8:29  –  the firstborn among many brethren

1 Corinthians 15:20  –  the first fruits of those who are asleep

1 Corinthians 15:22  –  (typified by Adam, who was, of course, the first of his kind)

1 Corinthians 15:23  –  the first fruits

1 Corinthians 15:45  –  (typified by Adam, who was, of course, the first of his kind)

Colossians 1:15 –  the firstborn of all creation

Colossians 1:17  –  He is before all things

Colossians 1:18  –  He is the beginning

Colossians 1:18  –  the firstborn from the dead

Colossians 1:18  –  He Himself will come to have first place in everything

Hebrews 1:6  –  the firstborn

Hebrews 2:10  –  the author of their salvation

Hebrews 6:20  –  forerunner

Hebrews 12:2  –  the author…of faith

Hebrews 12:23  –  the firstborn

Revelation 1:5 –  the firstborn of the dead

Revelation 3:14  –  the Beginning of the creation of God  (see also John 1:1-3 above)

Revelation 21:6  –  the Alpha…the beginning

Revelation 22:13  –  the Alpha…the first…the beginning

Micah 2:13  –  the breaker goes up before them…their king goes on before them and the Lord at their head
