Prepositions and Christ

This is a subsidiary post of Grammatical Constructions That Help Us Think About Christ.

It is not always easy to understand how a preposition is being used in a sentence.  However, the Scripture is filled with references to prepositions – especially with reference to Christ.

I started out my thinking on this subject focused on Christ.  However, since Christ is the one through whom we are to seek God, I included in this study references to God as well.  After all, God is in Christ and thus Christ is God to us.

Thinking about Christ in these different ways, seeing Him from these different angels, enriches our understanding of Him who is our life.

in Him  –  2 Corinthians 5:17, 19; Colossians 1:28; 2:3, 5, 6; 1 John 2:4-5, 6; 5:11

Him in  –  Galatians 2:20; Colossians 1:27

of Him  –  Romans 10:17; 2 Corinthians 5:14, 20; Galatians 6:2; Colossians 3:16

through Him  –

from God through Him to us  –  Acts 17:31; Romans 2:16; 2 Corinthians 5:18; Hebrews 13:21

from us through Him to God  –  Romans 16:27; Colossians 3:17; Hebrews 13:15; 1 Peter 2:5

with Him  –  Mark 3:14; Acts 4:13; Revelation 17:14 *** 2 Chronicles 15:2
