The Apostolic Testimony Is Unique, Unrepeatable, and Irreplaceable

This is a subsidiary post of Apostles.

The testimony of the apostles is utterly unique, unrepeatable, and, therefore, irreplaceable.

The apostles were witnesses of the Lord  –  Luke 1:1-4; 24:48; Acts 1:8, 21-22; 2:32; 3:15; 10:39, 41; 13:30-31; 1 Peter 5:1; 2 Peter 1:16-18

The Lord appeared to them  –  1 Corinthians 9:1; 15:1-20 (implied in 1 Peter 1:8)

Also see these verses for “seen and heard” language  –  John 1:14; 20:30-31; 21:24-25; Acts 4:20; 1 John 1:1-5

Thus their testimony is the basis for our faith  –  Mark 6:11; Luke 9:5; Acts 4:33; 20:24; 22:18; 2 Thessalonians 1:10; Rev 1:2, 9; 12:17; 19:10; 20:4

The apostles spoke the word of God  –  1 Thessalonians 2:13; Hebrews 13:7; Revelation 1:2, 9

The apostles spoke the word of the Lord  –  1 Corinthians 14:37; Hebrews 2:3

And, of course, the Lord Himself spoke God’s word  –  Hebrews 1:1-2

And the apostles confirmed what He spoke  –  Hebrews 2:3

That is, Jesus Himself testified  –  John 3:11
