God told Cain that sin was seeking him.  We could even say stalking him (Genesis 4:7; 1 Peter 5:8).  We can relate to Cain’s plight because we have seen sin’s work in our own lives.  God is calling us to forsake our lusts and pursue His will (1 Peter 4:2; 2 Timothy 2:22).

How does sin seek its desire in us?  By appealing – through temptation – to our desires, lusts, and pleasures.

James 1:13, 14, 15  –  “…each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust…”
