The scripture passage noted below goes with today’s post of A Nonchurchgoer’s Guide to Jesus and His Kingdom.
Mark 4:1-20 (Note especially in verses 18 and 19 that “the worries of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things” will choke the word about Christ in your heart such that it will have a hard time growing. While these obstacles can arise within your heart, note in verses 16 and 17 that persecution and affliction can arise from without to similarly stunt the growth of the seed of Christ in your life. And then there is the condition described in verse 15 – that a hardened heart cannot even hold the seed. Contemplate this parable in the sense of the word being Christ Himself.)
