Bible Notes on “Do You Profess to Know Christ with Your Mouth but Deny Him with Your Deeds?”

The scripture references below go with today’s post of A Nonchurchgoer’s Guide to Jesus and His Kingdom.

Titus 1:16  (It’s not just with our words that we can deny Jesus.  We can actually profess Him with our words by denying Him with our deeds.)

Jude 1:4  (Jude is describing people who profess Jesus with their mouths – claiming to live by His “grace” – while denying Him with their deeds.)

Romans 2:23-24  (This is the outcome when people profess to know God but deny Him by their deeds.  That is, the unbelieving are given occasion to mock.  It’s unseemly.  And it’s unworthy of our great God.)

If you are familiar with the Bible, or if you want to hear more from it, you may want to read one of my other blogs: A Bible Reader’s Guide to Jesus and His Kingdom.

Any quotations of Scripture are taken from the NASB, unless otherwise noted.
