Bible Notes on “It Won’t Do You Any Good to Forgive Sins at Work if You Hold Grudges at Home”

The scripture references below go with today’s post of A Nonchurchgoer’s Guide to Jesus and His Kingdom.

The passages below are all explicit instructions for husband-wife relationships in the 1st Century Greco-Roman world.  The underlying principles hold true today, even though adjustments in application are warranted due to the differences in cultural environment.  The main point is for husbands and wives to love each other with the love of Christ, which finds a way to transcend sin and thereby avoid bitterness and grudges.

Ephesians 5:22-33

Colossians 3:18-19

1 Peter 3:1-7

If you are familiar with the Bible, or if you want to hear more from it, you may want to read one of my other blogs: A Bible Reader’s Guide to Jesus and His Kingdom.

Any quotations of Scripture are taken from the NASB, unless otherwise noted.
