Hebrews 12:15-17 (“Coming short of the grace of God” is roughly synonymous with “forsaking your inheritance.” Don’t be like Esau who failed to appreciate the importance of spiritual things. Instead, practice the virtues of morality and godliness that you might receive the full measure of your inheritance. How do you practice virtue? You can only do it successfully with God’s help.
