Bible Notes on “Were You Coerced into Becoming a Christian?”

The scripture references below go with today’s post of A Nonchurchgoer’s Guide to Jesus and His Kingdom.

Psalm 110:3  (The true people of Jesus volunteer for the duty.  They were not conscripted into His service.)

Romans 8:32  (God has “freely given” us all things.  Everyone is going to heaven.  Only those who love and appreciate Him enough should take on the task of becoming His disciples.)

James 4:17  (Here’s what sin is:  knowing the right thing to do but not doing it.  If you don’t know what to do, dont worry about it.  Just do those things that you know are right and refrain from those things that you know are wrong.)

2 Corinthians 9:7

It’s “whosoever will may come” (Revelation 22:17 KJV) – not “everybody has to come…or else.”

If you are familiar with the Bible, or if you want to hear more from it, you may want to read one of my other blogs: A Bible Reader’s Guide to Jesus and His Kingdom.

Any quotations of Scripture are taken from the NASB, unless otherwise noted.
