Bible Notes on “The Lord Jesus”

The notes below go with today’s post of A Nonchurchgoer’s Guide to Jesus and His Kingdom.

Acts 1:21 (Peter describes his rabbi as “the Lord Jesus” not long after He had ascended into heaven.  Although the disciples would call Him “Lord” before He died, He came to be “Lord” in a whole new dimension after that – as you will see just below in Acts 2:34-36.  This itinerant Jewish rabbi has been exalted more than any other human being.)

Acts 2:34-36 (These words from Peter describe how the lordship of Jesus was prophesied in Psalm 110 a thousand years in advance…and then fulfilled in the resurrection and ascension of Jesus.)

If you are familiar with the Bible, or if you want to hear more from it, you may want to read one of my other blogs: A Bible Reader’s Guide to Jesus and His Kingdom.
