Bible Notes on “Is Everyone a Christian?”

Hosea 1:10 (The prophet Hosea foretells of the day when even those who were not God’s people will be called “the children of God.”  We live in that day.)

Hebrews 8:8-12 (The writer of this New Testament book is quoting Jeremiah 31:31-34 verbatim, emphasizing that the New Covenant means that all people – not just some – will know God.  We who live now enjoy that New Covenant and its benefits.)

Psalm 110:1 (When Jesus was raised from the dead, He ascended to the right hand of God as this Scripture indicates.  Note that it also looks forward to the time when even Jesus’ enemies will be put under His feet.  That occurred at the Second Coming: Jesus Christ Has Already Come Again.  Thus, only Christ’s friends were under His authority in New Testament days.  Since then, however, the whole human race was made subject to Him and in the process all human beings have come to be considered – by Him if by no one else – sons of God.  Thanks be to God for His staggering mercy to us through Jesus Christ!)
